This workshop assumes you have good working knowledge of SDA (Specialist Disability Accommodation) including what it is, how it is separate to support, how it is different to mainstream housing, the SDA design categories and SDA building types.

This session will focus on section 16, 17 and 18 of the NDIS SDA Rules (2020).
We don't cover SDA eligibility in this session; please see our below workshops for SDA eligibility and evidence. 

After this workshop you will be able to:

  • Understand building type. occupancy and support models
  • Understand SDA design category standards and features 
  • Understand considerations with location preferences
  • Work with other professionals to source evidence for SDA
  • Understand how to apply NDIS SDA legislation in practice

Why should I attend this workshop?

By 2025, the NDIA estimates that 30,000 participants will have SDA in their plans. As of September 2022, however, only 20,920 were receiving SDA payments.

This is a great workshop to attend if you have participants that have been deemed eligible for SDA, or already have SDA funded in their plan, but are funded for 3 resident, house for example and need to explore how to get that determination changed.
