About the presenters
Sophie Dutertre - Centre for Culture, Ethnicity and Health
Sophie commenced at CEH in 2016, bringing more than 15 years’ experience working with refugees, asylum seekers and migrant populations in the area of health education, HIV/AIDS and employment support. Her focus at CEH has been the development of culturally responsive resources for communities and the health sector about Covid-19 and the NDIS. She holds a Masters of Journalism, Bachelor of Law, and Graduate Diploma in Counselling.
Spase Veljanovski - Centre for Culture, Ethnicity and Health
Spase has over 20 years’ experience in access and equity work across mental health, local government and community health. He started work as a bilingual worker and has found this position to be a widely misunderstood. At the Centre for Culture, Ethnicity and Health he is a trainer and project worker in language services, health literacy and organisational cultural competence. He holds a Master of Public Health, Bachelor of Arts (Multicultural Studies) and Certificate IV, Training & Assessment.
George Taleporos - Summer Foundation
In his role as Senior Analyst and NDIS Communications Producer Dr George Taleporos is an integral member of Summer Foundation team and works to inform people with disability about NDIS news, developments and policy application. He is responsible for the Reasonable and Necessary podcast series. George has more than 20 years’ experience in the disability field, focused on advocacy, human rights policy and practice, service development and management.
